Programmable AC/DC Power Source EC1000S

The EC1000S not only supplies AC and DC power as the ordinary power supply, it also allows free programming of outputs such as instantaneous interruption, voltage sweep, and voltage variation patterns. The EC1000S also has essential functions for power tests, including a variety of output measurements and measurements related to the load power supply input. In addition, while the EC1000S can output as much as 1kVA*, it is desktop-size small and light, and affordable.
This programmable AC/DC power supply from NF Corporation can be used for a broad range of applications, while achieving excellent cost performance.
*The power supply outputs 1 kVA when the input is AC 200 V and 750 VA when the input is AC 100 V

 

 

 

Rich Measurement Functions
The EC1000S is equipped with high accuracy measurement functions for measuring frequencies, load power factors, crest factors (CF), and even the harmonic currents, in addition to the voltage and current. Setting values and measurement values are simultaneously displayed on easy-to-see 5.7-inch large-screen display.

Freely program output patterns with the sequece function
Program, in advance in the main unit, output variation patterns used to test the power supplies of devices and parts (one sequence each for the AC mode and DC mode). Simultaneous sweeping of frequency and voltage, and arbitrary waveforms are also supported. The same tests can be reproduced regardless of time or operator.

Control software allows smoother and more sophisticated customization of tests and measurements

The provided control software has (1) a logging function for importing and saving measurement value data, facilitating creation of reports, data analysis and other operations; (2) a sequence function to freely edit, execute, save and otherwise operate a series of output variation patterns; and (3) an arbitrary waveform creation function to easily create complicated waveforms. This software readily supports more sophisticated tests and measurements during development and prototyping

A variety of output modes

Eight output modes combining two operation modes and four signal source modes can be set. The most appropriate mode for an application can be selected.

In the DC mode, the EC1000S can output power which superimposes an alternating current (sine, square, or arbitrary wave) over a direct current. It can also be used as a DC power supply. This mode is best suited to DC/DC converter tests and ripple tests for capacitors.

A peak current equal to four times the maximum output current to the capacitor input rectifier load (crest factor: 4) can be supplied.

 

The output current can be limited by setting the maximum output current (peak/average current) in advance. Prototypes can be protected from abnormal currents during development evaluation.

 

 

 

  • The voltage phase (input phase) can be set in 0.1Á steps when the output is turned on. This function is useful, for example, when evaluating a load rush current.
  • The upper and lower limits for the output voltage and frequency can be set by using the setting range limitation function. Setting limits is effective for preventing load damage due to operation errors or some other cause.
  • Output can be turned on or off and the sequence controlled through external control I/O.
  • Because the USB interface is provided as a standard feature, the control software can be operated and a variety of tests and measurements controlled from a PC.
  • This product can be used as a power amplifier, by inputting external signals. Internal signals can also be added to external signals.
  • The external synchronization function enables the output frequency to be synchronized with the frequency of an external signal or power source line.
  • Thirty setting statuses can be stored and recalled to/from the setting memory.

 

  • Small and light
    We have considerably reduced the size and weight (263 mm wide, approx. 9.5 kg). The EC1000S can be used in a small area, such as on the top of a desk. In addition, it can be easily carried anywhere.

 

 

 

  • Large-screen display
    The EC1000S is equipped with an operation panel having a large LCD screen (5.7”, with a backlight). User-friendliness and visibility have been optimized. For example, the EC1000S shows setting and measurement values on a single screen.

  • Worldwide power supply input
    This power supply can be used world-wide because the input voltage range for the power supply is from AC 90 V to AC 250 V. In addition, the power supply input terminal is an AC inlet type, which is easy to connect. The power supply unit uses a power factor control to reduce the input current and harmonic current.
